Women's Counselling

The Women’s Counselling Centre is a charity that provides professional counselling for women by women in Hitchin and North Herts. By providing counselling the Centre aims to reduce emotional suffering and enable women to make positive changes in their lives. The Centre also aims to make its services available to women who would not usually have access to professional counselling, such as women on low incomes or those who are disabled.

Who is it for?

  • Women of all ages whatever their race, religion, sexuality or class.
  • Women who feel they can’t cope, are anxious or depressed.
  • Women who are worried about relationships, drug or alcohol use, or any other issue.
  • Women who have had a traumatic experience like abuse, violence, or a significant change or loss.
  • Women who are HIV positive or suffering from AIDS.
  • Women who prefer an all-female service.
  • Women on benefits or low incomes.
